India plays an important role in the agriculture trade Tomar

Amid the ban on rice and wheat exports,

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar at the G-20 meeting in Bali, Indonesia said that India is playing an important role in agricultural trade today.

Tomar stated that India used to be an importer of food grains in the past, but that the sector of agriculture is now sustainable.

"India has become a net exporter in agricultural products over the past few years due to this development,"

He said that India has maintained a surplus in trade for agricultural products.

In the fiscal year 2020-21, India's exports of agricultural products and allied goods continued to grow.

This year, the company saw a significant increase of 18% compared to the previous year.

Tomar stated that India's agricultural exports during the global pandemic reached an all-time high of USD 50.21 billion in 2021-22.
